Within the framework of the joint cooperation between the municipalities of Barcelona (Spain) and the municipality of Sidon, a team of “Clowns Without Borders” in Spain, in cooperation with a team of clowns in Lebanon (Clown me in), presented entertainment shows in the city of Sidon, in coordination with the Activities Committee in the municipality, with the aim of Bring joy to the hearts of children, the elderly and people with special needs.
Members of the Sidon Municipal Council, Mrs. Wafaa Shuaib and Eng. Mustafa Hegazy (Activities Committee), pointed out that the existing joint cooperation between the Sidon Municipality and the Barcelona Municipality resulted in a visit by a Spanish team of "clowns without borders" to the city of Sidon, where the municipality coordinated its visit to the city with the Barcelona municipality. And with the institutions covered by the program in the city of Sidon.
For her part, the coordinator of the performances, Mrs. Qamar Al-Sukhun, said that two young women from the Lebanese team "Clown me in", led by its founder Sabine Choucair and with the participation of Ghalia Saab, formed a joint team with the Spanish clowns: Albert Digueto and Moises , and they presented entertainment shows. She also thanked the municipalities of Sidon and Barcelona, the members of the municipal council, Mrs. Wafaa Shuaib and Eng. Mustafa Hegazy, and the joint clown team.
Mrs. Sabine Choucair expressed her pleasure to participate with the Spanish team in these shows and said: It was an important experience for us as a clown team in Lebanon. Praise be to God, we were able to bring joy and deliver the message of smiles that we desperately need under difficult circumstances.
As for the member of the Spanish team, Albert Digueto, he expressed his pleasure to visit Sidon, present joint performances, and relieve the psychological pressures on children, caused by the economic collapse and the concerns of families and their members in this field.
Coordinator Nora Samoura drew attention to the joint efforts between the municipalities of Sidon and Barcelona, and the cooperation with the institutions that hosted clown shows in the city of Sidon, as well as the municipal police accompanying the performances. She added: The focus was on the need to put masks as a preventive measure against the Corona virus, and masks were distributed by the Hariri Foundation team to the participants in the presentations that were presented in the public squares in old Sidon and a number of institutions hosting these shows.
