إستقبل رئيس بلدية صيدا المهندس محمد السعودي في مكتبه بالقصر البلدي وفد منظمة المدن المتوسطية Medcities في برشلونة إسبانيا برئاسة الأمين العام السيد جوزيب كانال مولينا وعضوية مدير المنظمة السيد أوريول باربا ، حيث رافقه في الزيارة مدير مركز نقل المعرفة في إتحاد بلديات الفيحاء طرابلس المهندس عبدالله عبدالوهاب، ومديرة الإتحاد المهندسة ديمة حمصي.
وعقد السعودي إجتماعا مع الوفد الزائر في قاعة المرحوم رفقي أبوظهر في البلدية بحضور أعضاء المجلس البلدي: المهندس مصطفى حجازي (منسق البلدية مع المنظمة وبلدية برشلونه) والسيدة وفاء وهبه شعيب والمهندس محمود شريتح ، ومستشار الرئيس السعودي المهندس محمد الزين، وفريق تطوير الإستراتيجية السياحية للمدينة القديمة ، الذي يتم دعمه من قبل المنظمة وبالشراكة مع بلدية صيدا ومؤسسة الحريري للتنمية البشرية المستدامة.
المهندس السعودي رحب بأمين عام منظمة Medcities في مدينة صيدا مثنيا على التعاون المشترك والدعم الذي تقدمة المنظمة لبلدية صيدا ولا سيما في مشاريع التنمية المستدامة للمدينة .
وقال: إن بلدية صيدا هي عضو فاعل في منظمة المدن المتوسطية منذ العام 2011 ولا شك فإن زيارة الأمين العام مولينا تعني لصيدا ولبلديتها الكثير فأهلا وسهلا .
من جهته أشار السيد مولينا إلى أن منظمة Medcities تضم بلديات لبنانية ومنها صيدا، ونتابع سويا عدة مشاريع للتنمية الحضرية . وزيارتنا لصيدا هي لتفقد الأعمال التي تم إنجازها ضمن مشروع الإستراتيجية السياحية لمدينة صيدا القديمة وأيضا الإطلاع على مختلف الإحتياجات.
وأضاف: هناك تطور كبير في صيدا بما يتعلق بمشروع الإستراتيجية السياحية لصيدا القديمة الذي يتم تطبيقه على مراحل، وأهنىء الرئيس السعودي والفريق المعاون على ما تم إنجازه في هذا المجال، وأيضا الجهود المبذولة لتكون السياحة في صيدا القديمة على الخارطة العالمية .
بعد ذلك قدم المهندس حجازي والسيدة شعيب وفريق الإستراتيجية السياحية : المحامي أحمد كساب والآنسة نورا سموره والمهندس غالب كساب عرضا موجزا للأعمال التي تم إنجازها وأبرزها : تحديث لافتات المعالم الأثرية والسياحية وتزويدها بـ بار كود QRتعريفي عن المعلم السياحي، وإنشاء "لوغو "صيدا 6000 عام من التراث الحي ، تم تثبيته قبالة قلعة صيدا البحرية وإلى جانبه مركز سياحي ترويجي للمعالم الآثرية والسياحية في صيدا القديمة .
بعد ذلك كانت جولة ميدانية على ما تم إنجازه ضمن إطار مشروع الإستراتيجية السياحية.

The Mayor of Saida, Eng. Muhammad Al-Saudi, received in his office at the Municipal Palace the delegation of the Medcities Organization in Barcelona, Spain, headed by the Secretary-General, Mr. Josep Canal Molina, and the membership of the organization’s director, Mr. Oriol Barba, who was accompanied on the visit by the Director of the Knowledge Transfer Center in the Union of Municipalities of Al-Fayhaa Tripoli, Eng. Abdullah Abdel Wahab, And the director of the union, Dima Homsi.
The Saudi held a meeting with the visiting delegation in the hall of the late Rifqi Abu Zahr in the municipality, in the presence of the members of the municipal council: Eng. Mustafa Hegazy (the municipality coordinator with the organization and the municipality of Barcelona), Mrs. Wafaa Wahba Shuaib, Eng. Mahmoud Shreiteh, the advisor to the Saudi president, Eng. Muhammad Al-Zein, and the tourism strategy development team for the old city , which is supported by the organization and in partnership with the Sidon Municipality and the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development.
The Saudi engineer welcomed the Secretary General of the Medcities Organization in the city of Sidon, praising the joint cooperation and support provided by the organization to the Sidon Municipality, especially in the sustainable development projects of the city.
He said: The municipality of Sidon has been an active member of the Mediterranean Cities Organization since 2011. Undoubtedly, the visit of Secretary General Molina means a lot to Sidon and its municipality, so welcome.
For his part, Mr. Molina indicated that Medcities includes Lebanese municipalities, including Sidon, and we are following together several urban development projects. Our visit to Sidon is to inspect the works that have been completed within the project of the tourism strategy for the old city of Sidon, as well as to see the various needs.
He added: There is a great development in Sidon with regard to the project of the tourism strategy for ancient Sidon, which is being implemented in stages, and I congratulate the Saudi president and the assistant team for what has been accomplished in this field, as well as the efforts made to place tourism in ancient Sidon on the global map.
After that, Eng. Hegazy, Mrs. Shoaib and the tourism strategy team: Lawyer Ahmed Kassab, Ms. Noura Samoura, and Eng. Ghaleb Kassab gave a brief presentation of the works that have been accomplished, most notably: updating the signage of monuments and tourist attractions and providing them with an introductory QR code bar for the tourist attraction, and the establishment of the 6000-year-old Saida logo. Living heritage, it was installed opposite the Sidon sea castle and next to it is a promotional tourist center for the archaeological and tourist attractions in old Sidon.
Then it was a field tour of what had been accomplished within the framework of the tourism strategy project.
