HWPL: The Eight Religious Groups Gathered for Realizing Peace of Religion in Sydney, Australia
On October 28th, the 30th Sydney Australia World Alliance of Religions Peace (WARP) Office meeting was held by an international NGO under the UN ECOSOC called Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL). Nine religious leaders from eight denominations including Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and so on gathered to discuss the topic of ‘Trustworthy Scripture and the Role of Religious Leaders’ with the attendance of 20 audiences together.
After the discussion on the role of religious leaders, the religious leaders promised to make an alliance of religious community and have a regular interfaith meeting through the WARP Office in Sydney, Australia by signing an agreement.
The Australia WARP Office meetings have been operated since January 2015 with various themes including Judgement according to the Scriptures. Good and Evil , Birth, Aging, Sickness and Death inal Destination of our Faith etc based on each holy scripture. At the beginning of the WARP Office comparing each scripture, the meeting has been developed to discussing on concrete contents to deeply understand faith of one another.
Mr. Raj Data, former Councilor of Strathfield Council shared his impression of the WARP Office by saying “Without peace, there is no prosperity. Without prosperity, there is no future for our next generation. What needs in Australia is multiculturalism, equity, and equality. We have to search out how our religions contribute to that. If we can keep on doing this regardless of religion and nation, we all can live together. We do not forget to acknowledge the equality of humanity in Australia. That is what you are doing."
HWPL is operating WARP Offices as a channel for interfaith dialogues based on religious texts to achieve a peaceful world. Since 2014, 218 WARP Offices in 126 countries have been opened (as of September 6, 2017). In this coming November, the 31st WARP Office meeting will be held with the theme of End Times.
