بدعوة من السفارة الأميركية في لبنان ، إستضاف متحف الصابون في صيدا التابع لمؤسسة عودة حدثا ثقافيا فنيا بإمتياز تمثل بإحياء فرقة BLACK ALLEY الأميركية (الزقاق الأسود) لأمسية موسيقية على تراس المتحف، عرضت فيه الفرقة لموسيقى خاصة بها تعرف بـ HOOD ROCK وهي مزيج من الروك والهيب هوب وموسيقى GO GO الحديثة، وذلك بحضور جمع من المدعوين وعشاق وهواة الموسيقى.
وكان في إستقبال الحضور منسقة الثقافة بقسم الشؤون الدبلوماسية في السفارة الأميركية في بيروت السيدة جولي مراد، ومدير عام مؤسسة عودة الثقافية السيدة كريستين عودة، ومديرة المتحف في صيدا السيدة دانا موسى، ومنسقة النشاط مع السفارة الأميركية السيدة نادين كاعين.
وسبق الأمسية جولة للفرقة في أرجاء متحف الصابون مبدين إعجابهم بالمتحف ومحتوياته ومشيدين بدور مؤسسة عوده الثقافية.
تلى ذلك ورشة عمل موسيقية تخللها تعارف وتدريب بين أعضاء الفرقة ونحو 20 شابا وشابة من هواة الموسيقى في صيدا ومناطق الجوار. وجرى خلال الورشة تعريف بمميزات الموسيقى الأميركية للفرقة القادمة من واشنطن حيث الغالبية من الأميركيين من أصول أفريقية، التي إطلعت من المشاركين في ورشة العمل على الموسيقى اللبنانية والعربية.
كلمة السفارة الأميركية
بداية ترحيب من منسّقة الثقافة بقسم الشؤون الدبلوماسية في السفارة الأميركية في بيروت السيدة جولي مراد فقالت:
اريد ان ارحب بكم جميعا واليوم احببنا ان نعمل هذا النشاط في صيدا حتى نبرهن ان صيدا تستحق ان تكون مصدرا للاهتمام وان تتسلط عليها الاضواء ثقافيا، لان هذه المدينة فيها الكثير من الثقافة والحضارة . انتم تعرفون ان العاصمة دائما تخطف كل الاضواء، ولكن نحن أردنا ان نبرهن ان المناطق البعيدة ايضا من بيروت تستحق ان تأخذ الأضواء الخاصة بها.
ونحن نرحب بكم جميعا واحببنا ان نحضر فرقة BLACK ALLEY من اميركا للبنان لكي تتعرف على الحضارة اللبنانية لأنه يوجد في هذا البلد الكثير من الحضارة والثقافة والكثير من الموسيقى. فلهذا جئنا بالفرقة من اميركا الى لبنان لنعرفهم على الحضارة اللبنانية، وليتعرف الجمهور اللبناني على انواع موسيقية اميركية ربما لم يسمع بها او يعرف عنها شيئا مثل هذا النوع من الموسيقى GO GO MUSIC .
بعد ذلك عرفت السيدة مراد بأعضاء الفرقة التي قدمت الفقرات والمعزوفات الموسيقية التي تشتهر بها على مدى ساعة ونصف، حيث تناغم معها الحضور الذي صفق إعجابا وتحية للفرقة .
تعريف بالفرقة
استقدمت السفارة الأميركية في بيروت فرقة Black Alley الى لبنان لإحياء ثلاث حفلات موسيقيةٍ ضخمة في مناطق مختلفة من البلاد، بالإضافة حفلاتٍ صغيرةٍ وورش أعمال موسيقية مختلفة.
تتميّز فرقة Black Alley القادمة من العاصمة واشنطن- المؤلفة من 5 موسيقيين (داني هندرسون على الدرامز، جوشوا كاميرون على الباس، مايلز شون على الكيبورد وكاميرون كونراد بولز وديريك ليونز على الإيقاع) والمغنية كايسي ويليامز- بموسيقاها الايقاعية الفريدة من نوعها وهي مزيجٌ من "الروك" و"الهيب هوب" وموسيقى الـ "go go" الحديثة وهي تطلق على هذا النوع المبتكر اسم الـ “Hood Rock” وسبق لها أن جالت بها في عددٍ كبير من البلدان العربية كالبحرين والامارات والكويت والأردن وهي في أول زيارةٍ لها الى لبنان.
بدأت الفرقة زيارتها بالشوف حيث قدّمت حفلةً في مركز إعداد IDAD لجمعية أصدقاء المعوّقين، تلتها زيارة الى مدينة صيدا حيث قدّمت ورشةً موسيقية لعشرين شاباً أطلعتهم فيها على هذا النوع من الموسيقى والأغاني ودور الإيقاع فيها، ثم انضم إليها الشباب عزفاً وغناء لتُختَتَم الحلقة التثقيفية بحفلةٍ حضرها ما يزيد عن المئة وخمسة وثلاثين شخصاً من مدينة صيدا والجوار.
وستقدّم الفرقة حفلةً موسيقية أخرى يوم السبت 27 أيار القادم الساعة الواحدة ظهراً بجامعة الحكمة في فرن الشباك مع 170 طفلاً من برنامج "بيروت تُرنّم- السيستما" المموّل من السفارة الأميركية لتوفير التعليم الموسيقي على مدار السنة للأطفال غير القادرين على التدريب موسيقيّ لأسبابٍ اقتصادية.
وتختتم الفرقة زيارتها الى لبنان بحفلةٍ ضخمة عند الساعة السابعة مساءً من ليلة الأحد في 28 أيار الحالي على مسرح بيار أبو خاطر بجامعة القديس يوسف، بمشاركة قائدة الأوركسترا ياسمينا صبّاح وكورس جامعة القديس يوسف وفرقة Jeunesses Musicales Du Liban للكمان.

The American band BLACK ALLEY performed a musical evening and a workshop

At the invitation of the American Embassy in Lebanon, the Soap Museum in Sidon of the Audi Foundation hosted a cultural and artistic event par excellence, represented by the American band BLACK ALLEY for a musical evening on the museum’s terrace, in which the band presented its own music known as HOOD ROCK, which is a mixture of rock and Hip-Hop and modern GO GO music, in the presence of a group of invited guests and music lovers and enthusiasts.
The audience was received by the Cultural Coordinator of the Diplomatic Affairs Department at the US Embassy in Beirut, Ms. Julie Murad, the Director General of the Audi Cultural Foundation, Ms. Christine Audi , the Director of the Museum in Saida, Ms. Dana Moussa, and the Activity Coordinator with the US Embassy, Ms. Nadine Kaeen.
The evening was preceded by a tour of the band throughout the Soap Museum, expressing their admiration for the museum and its contents, and praising the role of the Audi Cultural Foundation.
This was followed by a musical workshop that included acquaintance and training between the band members and about 20 young men and women who are amateurs in music in Sidon and the neighboring areas. During the workshop, an introduction to the characteristics of American music was given to the band coming from Washington, who were briefed by the participants in the workshop on Lebanese and Arabic music.
US Embassy
A welcome beginning from the Culture Coordinator of the Diplomatic Affairs Department at the US Embassy in Beirut, Mrs. Julie Murad. She said:
I would like to welcome all of you, and today we would like to do this activity in Sidon in order to prove that Sidon deserves to be a source of interest and cultural spotlight, because this city has a lot of culture and civilization. You know that the capital always grabs all the lights, but we wanted to prove that the remote areas of Beirut also deserve to take their own lights.
We welcome all of you, and we loved to bring the BLACK ALLEY band from America to Lebanon, in order to get acquainted with the Lebanese civilization, because there is a lot of civilization, culture and a lot of music in this country. That is why we brought the band from America to Lebanon to introduce them to the Lebanese civilization, and to introduce the Lebanese audience to American musical genres that they may not have heard of or known about, such as this type of music, GO GO MUSIC.
After that, Mrs. Murad was introduced to the members of the band, who presented the famous musical pieces for an hour and a half, as the audience, who applauded the band, chimed in with her.

The following is a statement about the troupe, an introduction to it and the program of its visit to Lebanon prepared by Ms. Julie Murad
The American Embassy in Beirut brought the Black Alley band to Lebanon to perform three large concerts in different parts of the country, in addition to small concerts and various musical workshops.
Black Alley from Washington, D.C. - made up of 5 musicians (Danny Henderson on drums, Joshua Cameron on bass, Miles Shawn on keyboards, Cameron Conrad Bowles and Derek Lyons on percussion) and vocalist Casey Williams - is distinguished by its unique percussive sound, which is a mixture of "rock And "Hip -hop" and modern "go go" music. She calls this innovative genre the name "Hood Rock", and she has already toured a large number of Arab countries, such as Bahrain, the Emirates, Kuwait and Jordan, while she is on her first visit to Lebanon.
The band started its visit in the Chouf, where it gave a concert at the IDAD preparation center for the Association of Friends of the Disabled, followed by a visit to the city of Sidon, where it presented a musical workshop for twenty young people, in which it informed them about this type of music and songs and the role of percussion in it. More than one hundred and thirty-five people from Sidon and the surrounding area.
The band will perform another concert on Saturday, May 27, at 1:00 pm at Sagesse University in Furn El Chebbak, with 170 children from the "Beirut Singing - Sistema" program funded by the US Embassy to provide musical education throughout the year for children who are unable to train in music for economic reasons.
The band concludes its visit to Lebanon with a huge concert at 7:00 pm on Sunday night, May 28, at the Pierre Abou Khater Theater at Saint Joseph University, with the participation of the orchestra leader, Yasmina Sabbah, the Saint Joseph University choir, and the Jeunesses Musicales Du Liban Violin Ensemble.
