HWPL / The Meeting of Religious Experts to Find out the Truth Based on Religious Scriptures
On June 30th, the 13th Colombia World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Office meeting was
held by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) in Bogota, Colombia. The
meeting was for appreciation of other religions through discussions by religious experts from diverse
backgrounds: Anglican Church, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and Scientology.
The experts shared their opinions on the topic, "What is the Truth?" with a picture provided showing
3(A, B, and C) different perspectives.
Mr. Lucas Park, the scripture researcher, remarked, "If C (in the picture) wants to prove himself or
herself to know the complete truth about something, there must be reasonable grounds and clear
evidence for it in religious scriptures. Also, "I've lived my life, believing that what I've learned is
everything. However, if I get to meet someone like B (in the picture), I should admit that B's
experiences and knowledge are not wrong, instead of only giving my opinion. And besides, I need to
check that mine is partial, too." he added.
In addition, Rabbi Richard Gamboa Ben-Eleazar, the General Secretary of Interfaith Council of
Colombia, stressed the importance of this meeting, saying “It is not helpful at all to debate whether to
have the truth or not. There is the truth partially in every holy Scripture. So, as we study universal
truth together, it's important for all of us to have a kind, loving, and noble heart and to keep an open
mind.”
Considering the teachings of each scripture, they reached the conclusion that it is not helpful for
bringing peace to argue each other with the idea that there is the truth only in my religion.
HWPL is operating WARP Offices as a channel for interfaith dialogues based on religious texts to
achieve a peaceful world. Since 2014, 216 WARP Offices in 123 countries have been opened (as of
June 8, 2017) to prevent the conflicts caused by religious misunderstandings. 54 more meetings in
June were held under the same theme with the Colombia one in 30 nations including Australia, Israel,
and Lebanon.
